"Kaleidoscopic
Crane" |
|
Artist: David Weibe |
The elegant, gorgeous
bird is covered with recurring patterns (i.e. migrations). It
stands in fields and rivers, with fish. The continuous circles
and swirls represent the eons the cranes have been here. Written
around the crane’s neck, in a language from India, it says “Great
Crane.” Up one leg, in that language, is David’s name and his
daughter’s name, Kristen, who also painted the crane with her
father. Up the other leg, their names have been written in English,
but rather disguised.
Grandchildren helped paint the fish on the
base.
