PayPal is a secure easy to use on-line payment service that allows anyone with an e-mail address to pay for items using their existing credit cards OR checking account, electronically and at no cost to the user. PayPal offers a unique service, which actually pays you $5 for opening an account. All that is necessary is a checking account number for them to deposit the money into. 

PayPal is used by more than 20 million people on the web and is now a common method of accepting payment for many on-line sites. Check any auction site or merchant site and you will see that PayPal is very common.

One of the nice things is that you now have one location to pay for items purchased on-line who’s only business is to securely handle business transactions, rather than different sites each having their own idea of what is secure or not.

With PayPal, you can send and receive payments through the Internet.  A user signs up for PayPal and provides PayPal with their credit card number(s) or checking account number, or they can be your bank.  After you have signed up with PayPal you make payments by logging onto their site.

Two methods are used to pay merchants.
Method 1 :Choose the make payment selection and pay the PayPal Verified merchant/person by making payments to their email address.

Method 2 : The information of what you are purchasing and the amount of the purchase is sent from the merchants web site when you click on Purchase on the merchants site.  This takes you to PayPal and all you have to do is login and choose how you want to pay. All of the other information is already filled in.

The following is the same for both methods.
PayPal then deducts the money from the credit card or bank account and electronically credits it to the PayPal vendor’s checking account. PayPal sends an email receipt to the vendor of who the purchaser is and what is being purchased.  PayPal also keeps a record for the purchaser of what you purchased.  All purchases are also insured up to a certain amount to assure that the Payee receives satisfaction.  In addition, PayPal provides Cranes On Parade with the shipping confirmation.  Currently, Cranes On Parade will ship anywhere in the United States, for the published shipping fees.  International rates are slightly higher.

A User logs into PalPal’s site using their name and secret password. Your credit card or checking account information is already on file with PayPal so you don’t have to re-enter that information each time you buy something and there are no encrypted credit card number ‘cookies’ stored on your hard drive. Then they chose the Payment tab and answer a few questions as to what they are buying and how much they wish to pay the PayPal Merchant using the PayPal Merchants email address (which is usually forwarded by the web from the merchant site).

Its usually only takes less than a minute to pay for the item and have an email notice sent to the Verified PayPal Merchant.  How quickly the merchant responds is dependant on the system they have set up to handle orders.
