Cookies
are small text files that a Web server sends to your
computer. The server that sends a cookie can recognize
your browser by reading the cookie whenever you visit a
page that is hosted by the Web server that sent the
cookie, but no other Web site can use it. Some web pages
use cookies to personalize your experience on the page
(saving your preferences, for example). Cookies can also
allow you to use shopping carts, check your billing
history, or save passwords.
You
can set your Web browser to notify you when you are
being sent a cookie, or you can turn off the capacity to
receive cookies. Please note that some Web pages may not
work correctly if you have cookies disabled. |
